Skin Type – The first and the foremost step is to understand your skin type then you will know how to take care of it. Based on your skin type you can decide what products to buy and what will suit your skin type. For eg- with sensitive skin, you have to be extremely cautious while buying skincare products. What will work on oily skin will not work on sensitive skin.

Cleansing, Toning & Moisturizing – CTM stands for Cleansing, Toning, and Moisturizing is the first step to build a skincare routine and forms the base for clear and glowing skin. Though every one of us is blessed with different skin types.  So CTM works differently for all the skin types but the basic routine remains the same.

Start your day with the cleansing solution. While buying one make sure it is meant for your skin type. Use the cleanser only twice a day in the morning and before going to bed at night. Don’t rub your face with the towel while drying, apply it very gently and pat your skin dry. After cleansing, you need to apply a toner to balance out the oils in the skin and to restore the PH balance. Toner can help you to improve the appearance, tightness of the pores, skin breakouts, hydrates and nourishes your skin. You can also spray the toner on your face after the cleanser to get a refreshing and hydrating feeling. After toner, the last step is to apply the moisturizer. During day time you can apply moisturizing sunscreen and at night a moisturizer with antioxidants and active ingredients can work. Adding a CTM to your skincare routine will make your skin healthy and glowing.

You can also add serum, eye creams to your skincare routine based on the skin type. A basic CTM is enough to start a skincare routine.

Also, bacteria and viruses transfer from the fingertips to the skin whenever you touch your face and repeatedly rub your face with some products, it can cause real damage to your skin and existing acne and spots. It is advisable to stop touching your skin every single time as the dirt from your fingertips will end up clogging your pores.

As we mentioned what you eat, drink and daily habits have a direct impact on your skin. So, for a healthy skincare routine drinking adequate water daily is required. Drinking enough water will help you to remove the toxins of the body, skin and will give you healthier skin and prevent premature aging. Have proper 7-8 hours of sleep. Eat fruits, nuts, dry fruits and green veggies. Overall having a healthy diet with a proper schedule is good for both skin and hair care.
