Skincare tips: Using e45 for sunburn

How do we get a sunburn?

Sunburn is the adverse reaction of your skin caused by long-term exposure to sun rays during the day.

Rays from the sun carry Ultraviolet (UV) radiations that can penetrate your skin’s protective covering, making it red, swollen, stiff, and irritated.

You can get sunburnt during summer and winter alike, but the reaction takes 12-48 hours in becoming apparent and another 5-7 days to heal completely.

Sadly, no remedy can quicken or reduce the effects of a sunburn.

But you can reduce the pain by using moisturizers like aloe vera and e45 for sunburn.

Remedies for a sunburn that always work

●      Take long and cold showers often

A sunburn does to your skin exactly what it sounds like; burns it from excessive heat.

The best remedy for burnt skin is to cool it down and bring the body temperature back to normal.

This is possible by using cold water to shower once or twice a day and keeping a cool, damp cloth pressed against the skin that hurts the most.

●      Don’t peel the blisters

If you’re anything like me, peeling blisters is the first thing you’ll do.

But keep in mind that intact blisters hurt a lot less than peeled ones.

Peeling the dry and flaky skin after sunburn can slow down its healing and cause infections.

If a blister does peel, clean it with soap and water and apply some antibiotic cream to it for protection of the sensitive skin underneath.

●      Drink lots of water

This is another crucial step in cooling down.

Sunburnt skin draws water to itself for cooling, dehydrating the rest of your body.

Consume plentiful cold water after a sunburn to rehydrate yourself.

●      Take pain medication

Any amount of remedy can’t get rid of the pain completely.

That’s where painkillers help by providing temporary relief from the irritation and swelling.

Take two painkillers in the morning and evening like Ibuprofen or Aspirin for the duration of your symptoms.

●      Moisturize with e45 for sunburn

A treatment that helps decrease sunburns just as much as pain medication is applying a moisturizer.

The American Academy of Dermatology states that using moisturizers like aloe vera creams and e45 for sunburn helps reduce the pain and swelling to a great extent.

You should moisturize after taking a bath when the skin is still damp for the best results.

Conclusions

If you’re ever unfortunate enough to get one, Above mentioned simple steps will help in your recovery and make it a lot less painful.

Just remember to moisturize with e45 cream after every shower and drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated & fresh.
