When You Do the Home Test Correctly
It is almost 100% reliable. Keep in mind, however, that the HIV test will not be done until three months after a possible infection. Only then can a reliable result be obtained.

The HIV test is taken as a blood sample from the fingertip, and the result is complete after a quarter. The test is read as a pregnancy test: two lines indicate a positive result.
